South African multi-disciplinary artist Desire Marea has had (the state of the world notwithstanding) a banner year. Already beloved in their home county, Marea made strides towards international recognition with their album, Desire, self-released to acclaim in January (now doesn’t that feel like a generation ago?) – an album that we love.
This week, they’ve shared a full live set filmed at the Alliance Française in Durban, South Africa. It follows Marea and a host of collaborators old and new as they dive into an energetic, hypnotic set, which also boasts a brand new track in the form of “Mfula”.
