The unsuspecting-looking girl on the cover of Contra also did not suspect that her photo would be so widely publicized, and is suing the band for $2 mil, TMZ reports. The cover art is a 1983 photo of Kirsten Kennis, who first learned that the band was using her likeness when Vampire Weekend was promoting the album in November. Allegedly, the photo was released on a forged signature. Why has the issue been just now raised in July? Who is actually responsible for this? What is the expression on Kennis’ face trying to convey? All questions remain unsolved for now as band has declined to comment.
