Caribou launches the euphoric “Come Find Me”, announces new album

Caribou will release a new album called Honey on 4 October through Merge/City Slang. It features recently released singles “Honey”, “Broke My Heart”, “Volume” and today’s latest “Come Find Me”. On the new track, Caribou mastermind Dan Snaith says:

“I love this kind of chord sequence and the sort of French touch type of vibe but it took a lot of time to find the right vocal hook and breakdown and make it more pop and concise. When I play that one in DJ sets, when it drops down to just the singing and then suddenly it’s a song that surges back in – I know for a fact no one in the crowd has heard it before and yet people always respond in this really emotionally charged, euphoric way… that’s always the best litmus test that a track has come together in the right way.”

Combining the classic French touch style with his own deftness at producing body-moving productions, “Come Find Me” insists on taking you on a ride – to follow the flirtatious vocal sample into the thickets of pleasure. The song’s undulating dynamics gently but insistently make your body feel like it’s rising and falling, the rising and falling wave of synth tugging your heart and soul up and down while the rhythm invades your lower half. Snaith makes it seem so simple, which is really the magic of it.

“Come Find Me” comes with a video directed by Richard Kenworthy, which you can watch below. Otherwise, find the track on streamers.

Caribou’s new album Honey arrives on 4 October via Merge/City Slang (pre-order/save).
