Urkt is the duo of Harry Urquhart and Alfie Tyson-Brown, who reside in London and Bristol, but use that separation as a working method. They send ideas back and forth, each adding their own ideas, which is how they come to the original sounds we heard on debut single “Sour” and today’s new song “Rich Now”.
The new track has a lumpen thud underpinning it, anchoring the soul-searching vocals, which express gratitude for the love of friends and family. In between these elements, “Rich Now” boasts a tapestry of electronic textures, some bright and some more placid, combining together into an unusually dense but floating production.
