Big Boi’s solo album from 2010 Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty was many years in the making, but it seems the follow up could be coming even sooner than we think. The Outkast rapper has divulged that he’s already got 17 tracks in the bag (which is two more than Lucious Left Foot had, disregarding bonus tracks) and has recorded another collaboration with exciting rising star Janelle Monae. He also has a working title of Daddy Fat Sax: Soul Funk Crusader. Speaking as to the sound of the new material Big Boi says “It’s going to be S-A-X-X-X triple unadulterated funk to the extremest level. Straight lyrical assassin, and the beats are going to be as hard hitting as always. I’mma let everything else be a surprise, and just let it speak for itself.”
He has managed to achieve all these things while also constantly touring and reportdly working with Modest Mouse on their new album! This raises the questions: Is the new Modest Mouse album finished? Does Big Boi ever sleep? Is the person currently touring as Big Boi a DOOM-esque impersonator? Will Big Boi ever create an off-Broadway hip hop show featuring the characters Sir Lucious Left Foot, Chico Dusty and Daddy Fat Sax?
Oh yeah, and will Outkast ever make music together ever again?!!?
Stay tuned to life to find out.
