Bill Callahan announces new album, Dream River
It seems just like yesterday that Bill Callahan released his last album Apocalypse (Hell i'm still reeling off of Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle), but in actual fact it's coming on two years since it found its way into the world. Nonetheless, Callahan will return with a new LP later this year entitled Dream River.
Franz Ferdinand plot tour, share behind-the-scenes video
Franz Ferdinand will return with their new album, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions in August 27th of this year. With that anticipatory date ahead of us, the band will also head out on an expansive your, playing numerous festivals and North American dates, and dropping by Japan also. To tantalize you further, the Glasgow-based band have also shared a behind the scenes video, allowing us a live version of what can be assumed to be a new song, along with plenty of other details about the album's construction. Check out the video after the dates below.
Listen: Volcano Choir – “Byegone”
Volcano Choir - the side project of Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon - are to release their sophomore album later this year. Repave will see its release through Jagjaguwar on September 2nd/3rd, following 2009's Unmap. That's the artwork above, and fitting with the watery imagery, their new single "Byegone" boasts a crescendo where Vernon proclaims "Set sail!"
Watch: Okkervil River – “It Was My Season”
Okkervil River’s newly announced album, The Silver Gymnasium has had a little more revealed about its contents: According to frontman Will Sheff, the album “takes place in 1986 in a small town in New Hampshire.” You’ll find that town depicted in the new lyric video for the jaunty, piano-led track “It Was My Season” as a projector plays out the lyrics as the stage – which was built nearly a decade ago for a play called “The Woodland Princess” – goes from dawn to dusk.
