If you don’t know Apollo Brown by now…you really ought to? Having helmed full LP’s for the likes of Guilty Simpson, O.C., Planet Asia, Ras Kass, Joell Ortiz, and more, he caught some serious widespread attention in 2020 for his project alongside Che Noir, As God Intended.
He’s been so busy that it’s been – time does fly – eight years since his last instrumental album. That’s finally set to change, as he’s revealed his intent to release This Must Be the Place.
To mark the occasion, he’s shared the project’s lead single, “It Just Is”. The song is pure Apollo Brown, soulful and bouncy at once, with a distant allure to it, wafting through the room like incense smoke.
