ATP Festival curated by Jeff Mangum delayed from December to March

This will come as a disappointment to many people, but due to “a set of extremely unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances” the first December UK ATP Festival, set to be curated by Jeff Mangum, has been postponed by three months. The event, which was set to take place from December 2nd-4th will now take place on March 9th-11th. All tickets from the original event are still valid.

The impulse is to blame Jeff Mangum’s flakiness, but this doesn’t seem likely since he has been honouring his whole American tour and looking as though he’s thoroughly enjoying playing. ATP also say that they are talking with Mangum to hopefully ensure that he is still playing his London show, which adds further evidence to say that this is not a Mangum-related problem.

Unfortunately what had been an incredible lineup including Thurston Moore, Superchunk, Fleet Foxes, Young Marble Giants and many many more will probably be severely cut thanks to this delay. The possibility of all of the bands being able to fit these new dates into their schedule seems unlikely, but ATP says:

“We are contacting all of the artists on the line-up and hope that many, if not all of them will be able to perform at the re-arranged weekend – and we will also be adding more artists in the coming months to complete the line-up which we’re sure will make for a fantastic event. On November 10th we will confirm all of the artists who will stay from the original line-up and also announce some new additions.
