As recently highlighted here, box sets are all the rage as the record industry tries to find relevant ways to re-package physical copies of their product. The real winners, though, are the fans, who may end up shelling out some extra dough, but, at least, wind up getting some pretty special return on their investment.
Next spring, Paul Simon will give his masterpiece Graceland the box set treatment, and will accompany the release with a tour. According to Billboard, the set will include a Joe Berlinger documentary and the tour will attempt to reunite Paul Simon’s 1987 backing band, including the South African vocal group Ladysmith Black Mambazo. More details are expected next year, and we’ll keep you posted when they surface.
