Bon Iver recently visited NPR’s World Cafe to record a session and while bringing their usual magic Justin Vernon took a little time to tease out this piece of pure beauty. Those who are not fans of “Beth/Rest” on Bon Iver, Bon Iver may find a lot to like in this version; gone are all the cheesy 80s-indebted elements and we’re left with a frail, bare skeleton. Starting off in an uncharacteristically low register Vernon sucks us in before sweeping us away with his beautiful falsetto and some piano flare. Listen below.
