Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood teams up with Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki for new album

Last week videos of Jonny Greenwood and Aphex Twin reimagining works by famed Polish avant-garde composer Krzysztof Penderecki found their way on to the internet. The pieces were put together for Polish festival Sacrum Profanum, but as CoS and The King of Limbs Part 2 have discovered, Greenwood’s involvement with Penderecki goes beyond that.

The Sacrum Profanum website has announced that Greenwood and Penderecki have made a full album together that will be released by Nonesuch. The album was prepared by the National Audiovisual Institute and recorded over two days that the pair spent together in Krakow’s Alvernia Studios. You can read the full announcement at the website.

No release date or title has yet been announced for the project, but we’ll keep you posted when more details arise. For those unfamiliar with Krysztof Penderecki’s work, you can watch the performance of Greenwood’s “48 Responses to Polimorfia” below.
