Images have surfaced of what appear to be catalog entries for the upcoming Beatles remastered box sets. As previously reported, all 13 original Beatles studio albums, as well as the two-disc Past Masters collection of non-album singles and rarities, will be released on September 9th in new remastered versions, with new packaging, liner notes, and mini-documentaries about the making of each album. This is the first time the Beatles’ British studio albums have been reissued since they were originally released on CD in 1987.
The original news release also indicated that, in addition to being released individually, the 14 titles would be collected in two box sets. One of these boxes would collect 10 of the albums in their original mono mixes previously unavailable on CD, packaging each CD in miniature vinyl-replica digipaks. The other box set would collect all 14 of the wide-release stereo titles as well as a DVD of all of the mini-documentaries. While the individual albums are available for pre-order on sites such as Amazon, no firm info about the box set has previously surfaced, including price and artwork. While the box sets’ retail values are still unknown, onethirtybpm can exclusively reveal images of the box sets below:
