Yep, NPR is going to do it again. In an attempt to put us and all other music websites out of business, NPR is once again going to out-do us all with unmatchable original programming. Next up: a live broadcast and webcast of the 10th annual Sasquatch Music Festival.
In partnership with Seattle’s KEXP and public radio stations from across the country, NPR will offer three days of live sets from a remarkable bill of bands, including Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie, Deerhunter, Foo Fighters, Flying Lotus, J Mascis, Major Lazer, Old 97’s, Robyn, Smith Westerns, Surfer Blood, The Thermals, Twin Shadow, Washed Out and Wilco.
This is the first time that curated coverage of Sasquatch! concerts will be accessible through free, live webcasts at NPR Music. All live coverage will be available at www.npr.org/sasquatch and through the NPR Music iPhone app from May 28-30 from 11:30 AM-11:30 PM PT (2:30 PM-2:30 AM ET). Concerts will be archived for on-demand listening at the site, the app and as podcasts.
This, thankfully, won’t be the only coverage you will get of the festival, as One Thirty BPM will be on-hand to offer full post-festival coverage. So, be sure to check back next week for a shit-ton of photos and band write-ups. It’s going to be fun.
