Earlier this week U2 announced that their twelfth studio album, No Line on the Horizon, would be released on March 3rd. Now, Amazon has revealed that the album, U2’s first since 2004’s multiplatinum How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, will be released in five separate editions, at varying price points, with the most expensive retailing for nearly $100.
In addition to standard CD and vinyl editions, the band will also offer a $35 digipak edition, a $50 magazine and a deluxe $95 box set.
Longtime U2 photographer Anton Corbijn has also directed a new film featuring the band’s music. This film will be available as a digital download with the purchase of the digipak and magazine editions of the album, as well as on a DVD with the box set.
Cover art and a full track list for No Line on the Horizon is yet to be announced, though the album will likely include “Moment of Surrender,” “Unknown Caller,” and the title track. U2 is also expected to embark on a major world tour in 2009, their first since signing a massive touring deal with LiveNation.
