Many of today’s popular disco and new-wave inspired bands owe their success to the groundwork that English synth-pop duo Yaz laid down some twenty years ago (known in the U.K. as Yazoo). 1982′s Upstairs at Eric’s was a huge success, reaching number 2 in the U.K. polls that year.

But Yaz only put out two albums, as both Vince Clarke and Alison Moyet went their separate ways musically. Yet in 2008 the two reunited to play a highly anticipated summer tour, playing to sold out audiences around the globe. Coupled with the rerelease of their two albums in one four-disc remastered boxset called In Your Room, buzz and excitement for Yaz might be at an all time high.

And the duo will continue to ride that wave of success this September when they release Reconnected Live, a two disc live album recorded during their 2008 reunion tour.
