Zippy UK pop punk duo The Ting Tings have been recording in Berlin for a new record that is slated for release at some stage later in 2010, and now they have a name for it. It’s been christened Kunst – yes, Kunst – which is German for “art”. The title was inspired by the name of a massage parlour around the corner from their Berlin studio, imaginatively called “Massage Kunst/” A photo of the parlour is reportedly set to become the album cover.
The record will feature some “old weird synths” the pair bought in New York, adding a new dimension to their guitar pop sound. There is, as yet, no official tracklisting, although the songs “Help” and “Hands” will feature.
