Providence folk-rock ensemble The Low Anthem will release their follow up to 2008′s Oh My God, Charlie Darwin on February 22nd. The new album, to be entitled Smart Flesh, is their fourth studio effort, but only their second since signing with Nonesuch in 2009.

Keeping with their slightly bizarre reputation, the band recorded most of the album in an abandoned pasta sauce factory in their home state of Rhode Island and includes songs about “whirring machinery, deserted highways, mannequins, cremation, and formaldehyde.” The album was mixed by Mike Mogis, known for his work with Bright Eyes and other Saddle Creek projects.
