This year’s collaborative album between Jay-Z and Kanye West (aka The Throne) certainly caused a hubbub amongst music fans the world over. It’s not uncommon for big stars to end up on a song together, but for the two biggest names in hip-hop to get together and work on a full-length release together was a novelty for sure. However, it might not be the last one we get from them.
In speaking to MTV Jay-Z seemed in a buoyant mood as he described his current creative state; “We – I say ‘we’ because I’m in Throne mode – we’re in a great place creatively,” Jay divulged.
While they’re both going to be using this current purple patch of creation to make their next solo releases – which Jay-Z hopes will both see the light of day in 2012 – there is certainly a desire to create a follow up to Watch The Throne – and that might also come out next year. “You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year… We really found our zone.” he let slip.
However, considering how long it took for Watch The Throne to come out after Kanye originally tweeted that they had been working together, I wouldn’t hold my breath for it in 2012. Nevertheless, it is interesting to hear that these two titans plan to collaborate again in the near future.
You can watch the interview with Jay-Z below.
