Lead singer and guitarist of New York based band Interpol is to release his first solo album this August.
Banks is releasing it under the name Julian Plenti; a name that he has apparently been using for his solo work for many years. Although this will be his first official release under the moniker some of the songs are apparently up to ten years old.
Some snippets of songs can be heard on the official website (but not a lot else). It seems that the album will be called Skyscraper and is out on August 4th via Matador Records.
