Anti Records reported today that Denver based folk/gypsy/punk/mariachi/slavic/indie four piece DeVotchKa is in studios working on a new album. No release date or details have emerged yet, but this is set to be the bands six full album and second on Anti Records after 2008′s epic release A Mad and Faithful Telling. The band is currently creating a new sultry brew of tracks at Wavelab Studios in Tucson, AZ. The band just wrapped up a nationwide tour with Gogol Bordello and is set to play at the Mishawaka Amphitheater in Ft. Collins Colorado August 28th.
If that isn’t enough to keep these guys busy (and one gal) they also have recently composed soundtracks for several other high profile films including the upcoming prison romance I Love You Phillip Morris starring Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey. Soundtracks are part of the repertoire for DeVotchKa who also scored the grammy nominated soundtrack for Little Miss Sunshine.
