Today sees the release of Arctic Monkeys’ new single “Black Treacle,” taken from their latest (BPM recommended) album, Suck It And See. The video for “Black Treacle” was released a few weeks ago, but today the Arctics have put out a video for the song’s b-side “You And I.”
It might seem odd releasing a video for a b-side, but it’s actually the second time Arctic Monkeys have done this in support of the Suck It And See singles, having released a video for “Evil Twin,” the b-side to the album’s title track. It seems like a pretty good idea to me; it gives more exposure to b-sides which are almost, if not as good as, songs on the album, which people may not otherwise hear.
“You and I” features British singer-songwriter and some time Pulp member Richard Hawley singing in his gravelly voice and tearing it up on guitar. Watch the Arctics and Hawley recording and having a good time in the video below.
