You Won’t announce debut album details

We haven’t been keeping track of You Won’t since they started to get a lot of buzz over the summer, but it’s better late than never to get involved and it seems like now is the appropriate time to jump aboard the hype train. The band has just announced the release of their debut record Skeptic Godbye through Old Flame Records on February 14th.

Who are You Won’t? They are a duo of guys from Massachusetts called Josh Arnoudse and Raky Sastr, who have been making music together for well over a decade now. Their collaboarations have ranged from simply making demos for each other to full-on short film making to touring in a garage folk band called Nohow On. These experiences have taken them several places, but in late 2010 they regrouped in the town of Littleton in their home state and formed You Won’t.

You Won’t makes upbeat and simplistic folk music that’s beautifully coupled with the great and evocative storytelling, and they seem set to take their place alongside contemporaries ranging from Local Natives to Frightened Rabbit, and could even be compared to early Yeasayer.

But my words don’t do it justice. Fortunately they have three songs available to stream for free, which we have for you below. (Use the drop down menu to select a song.)

And if you want an example of their live prowess then check out this performance in a cemetery!
