Yep, that’s right. We’ve been waiting on that St. Vincent/David Byrne collab album, and lo and behold, now that it’s finally approaching, we’re sidelined by a far stranger idea. When Yoko Ono hooked up with Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon for a charitable song for the victims of the Japanese tsunami most didn’t give it any more thought – a one off, a done deal.
Well, an album somehow grew out of that. Apparently a lot of thought went into its title, YOKOKIMTHURSTON. The album shall consist of six tracks, but considering the 14 minute length of the track previously released, it will certainly be a genuine full-length. It’s hard to imagine how the entire thing will sound, but if nothing else, it’s encouraging to see the formerly married Sonic Youth couple still creating together.
