Widowspeak was just a band I had never heard of before a few minutes ago. Now, I can’t wait to hear their debut LP, which will be released on Captured Tracks on August 9th. Self-titled, the ten-song set promises to show a band (Brooklyn-based, partially-Washington-bred) still in its infancy, with no ceiling on what they can possibly accomplish artistically. And, if these songs are good examples, they have already come a long way.
