Few bands enjoy the level of hype from their very first single that Wet Leg have commanded. Yet, few bands arrive with the likes of “Chaise Longue”, a song as irresistible as it is blistering.
Now the duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have returned with their second salvo, the equally stomping “Wet Dream”, along with some big, great news: their signing to Domino.
Speaking on the track’s inspiration, Teasedale is decidedly candid: “‘Wet Dream’ is a breakup song; it came about when one of my ex’s went through a stage of texting me after we we’d broken up telling me that ‘he had a dream about me’.”
As questionable as his decision to take this tact may have been, we can count ourselves lucky it inspired this song. Check it out below, along with its surreal, slightly spastic video – or listen to it on streaming platforms.
