Prolific New York-based songwriter and guitarist Wendy Eisenberg has signed to Joyful Noise Recordings. It’s a good fit as the label is home to some truly fluid musical conspirators. As Eisenberg’s music travels across genres, touching on aspects of jazz, noise, and all sorts of avant substrata, they should settle right in. To mark the occasion, they have released a new single called “I Don’t Miss You”. It features contributions from Ryan Sawyer (Gang Gang Dance, At the Drive-In) and Mari Rubio (more eaze) and is littered with strings, synths, percussion, and Eisenberg’s voice all guiding the reflective noise to its conclusion.
“This song was written during a period of my life when I was casually dating, which is a style of romance that does not come naturally to me (my tendency is to take things way too seriously for way too long),” they explain. “The people entering and exiting my life were fascinating and complete worlds unto themselves, and the brevity of our connections felt like the world was holding a mirror to me and breathing on it- alternately reflective and opaque. Of course I miss them. I miss everyone I’ve ever met!”
