Dave Grohl has many talents. Looking convincing while dancing to Deadmau5 is certainly not one of them. Whether or not film making is one of them remains to be seen, but we might get a good idea today since his documentary about Sound City has released its first trailer.
Sound City pays tribute to the legendary Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, Los Angeles and the countless classic albums recorded there, which include After The Goldrush, Nevermind, Queens of the Stone Age, and Rumors. Plenty of musicians have been interviewed for what looks like a very entertaining film. There are no details yet as to when we can expect the film; it seems like all the recording is done, but it can take months to edit together a film like this. And it looks like it’s still in the early stages of editing as this trailer is only 25 seconds long, but it’s an effective 25 seconds that will certainly get you interested in the film.
