Last night was the second night of The Shins’ current club tour, this time stopping off in Bend, Oregon at The Domino Room. Unlike the first night, where fans only managed to catch their (pretty decent) cover of David Bowie’s classic “Ashes to Ashes,” this time we get a fan video of a new song. On night one of the tour the song was marked as “For A Fool” on the set list. Having listened to the song, it’s probably called “Taken For A Fool,” but I don’t want to jump to conclusions – maybe James Mercer didn’t want to have a song with the same name as one from The Strokes’ most recent album, so simply removed a word. Either way, it’s a slow burner that allows James to get his croon on. Watch it below, and see if you think it’s good enough to make the cut for The Shins’ next album.
