The next five volumes of Sufjan Stevens’ Songs For Christmas are out this week, and we’re all terribly excited about that fact. To excite you (and me) more, here’s a new video for the title track of the compilation. “Silver & Gold” is one of Sufjan’s more melancholic tracks, but we know with that there’s a sad beauty to follow. The video, on the other hand, is what looks like an old family film of a young boy running around a beach and flying his kite. Maybe it’s the faded wash of the film itself, or just Sufjan’s words, but all makes for something rather chilly. Watch it below.
