Fireworks and synth-y day-glo beats have gone hand-in-hand since the inception of the music video, and ODESZA make full use of that association. Â Utilizing glitchy electronic flourishes and lush vocal samples, the production duo of Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight (aka ODESZA) use their music as a backdrop to capture Christmastime in Guatemala when families set off “cuetes,” Spanish slang for firecrackers, as soon as midnight hits. Â Director Diego Contreras pairs the colorful, dream-like quality of the music with images of children running along streets while fireworks explode in the sky. Â Check out the video below.
