It’s been over a year since M83 dropped their last album, the stellar Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming, but that doesn’t mean the momentum from it has stopped. The video for “Steve McQueen” comes some time after the initial album release, but it still sounds great. Directed by Balthazar Auxietre and Sylvain Derosne, the video is revealed as the winner of a contest by Genero.tv where they challenged filmmakers to make a video of any description so long as it was “not about the actor!” The end result does feature a snappily dressed young boy, but the emphasis is on the dancing computer mainframes, floating toy animals, and the splurge of science-tacular stuff.
