Since Jason Lytle’s 2009 album Yours Truly, The Commuter – which was itself underrated – the ex-Grandaddy frontman has put out a bunch of songs on a couple of other releases which have flown completely under the radar. This isn’t a very nice way to treat the man who, along with his band, brought us some of the most wonderfully evocative indie music of the last couple of decades. So we’re here to tell you that Lytle did a recent acoustic session for Anchortapes, in which he performed a couple of new songs called “Hang Town” and “Matterhorn” which, in this acoustic state at least, are dainty and sleepy, but in the best ways possible, and get us pretty excited for whatever Lytle has up his sleeve next.
Check out the videos of the performances below.
