Copenhagen-based psych-pop band Halasan Bazar are set to release their latest album Space Junk on April 2nd via noted cassette label Crash Symbols. In the lead-up to the album’s release, the band has just shared the video for fuzzed-out Space Junk-cut “Sometimes Happy, Sometimes Sad.” Lead vocalist Fredrik Eckhoff had this to say about the video:
“The footage is from “Kilka praktycznych sposobów na przedłużenie sobie życia” by Julian Antonisz, (1974), some sort of wacked children’s program, cut to pieces to reflect the agony of being a modern man. Mashing up films like this and adding new music to it has a very striking effect. What was probably just a series of gags for kids, is now morphed into a portrait of human agony and mental breakdown. But also Pythonesque slap stick comedy.”
