Did you love The Cosby Show? Do you fondly remember the misadventures of Cliff, Clair, Theo, Rudy, and the rest of the family? If you do, then indie rock band Cassorla have got you covered. The band, whose members call Los Angeles, New York City, and Philadelphia home, have taken clips from The Cosby Show and cut and spliced them together to form the basis of the video for their latest song “Broke Down.” This track is the first single from their upcoming LP Plastic (no release date yet) and continues the melodic and off-kilter indie rock rhythms that have characterized their past records. Brandishing pounding drums, squelching synths, and psych-rock influenced guitar licks, Cassorla run through about half a dozen influences before the song reaches its end. They are also finishing up the recording of another collection of songs, their soon-to-be-released Friend Benefits EP, which features a slew of guest musicians from such bands as Blitzen Trapper, Deradoorian, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes.
Beats Per Minute is pleased to premiere the video for “Broke Down” from Cassorla’s upcoming album Plastic.
