So here it is, the first official debut song from Noel Gallagher, and it sounds… well, it sounds like Oasis to be honest. Specifically like Don’t Believe The Truth-era Oasis. That’s a good thing though, because – in this writer’s opinion at least – that was the last time they really hit a purple patch in good songwriting. The brass section that takes over towards the end is something a little different and interesting too.
“The Death of You and Me” is the first single to be released from Gallagher’s upcoming album Noel Gallgher’s High Flying Birds (coming out October 17th on Gallagher’s own Sour Mash imprint), but there will certainly be more, since this video ends with a ‘to be continued’ message.
