Julia Holter certainly made waves earlier this month with the release of her second album, Ekstasis, which was loved pretty universally (including here). The album is a pretty highly conceptual piece of art, and so is the video for “Moni Mon Amie” in some ways.
The video description reads as such:
“The video for “Moni Mon Amie” interprets the song as a lyrical appeal to the unattainable other, and a conversation that’s being had with oneself. The longing transforms the perception of the everyday, turning each moment into a poetic landscape in which the miniature and the gigantic become interchangeable. Julia plays the subject and the object of desire in this video.”
