Daniel Lanois, producer for the next U2 album, has been singing nothing but praises for the band as of late. Recently, he told the press that the band has “re-invented rock n’ roll” again. He also went on to say that Bono’s voice was in top shape, and to expect one of his best performances.
He didn’t go into a whole lot of detail, but kept stressing that this record was very innovative, and different. I sure hope he is right, after a string of Joshua Tree/stadium rock clones, it’s about time the band tries something different. Maybe we’ll get our next Achtung Baby? NME
