The husband and wife duo of Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, better knows as Tom Tom Club, are back on the road for the first time in 10 years starting in September. Although the band has played various shows over those years, this will be their first full-fledged US tour. Frantz has some great words about the tour as well,
“It will be a real pleasure for us to see so much of the USA again this fall. We are all very excited about this tour, to go out and make new friends and reconnect with old friends. The band consists of seven players, is smoking hot and completely live. We don’t use any sequencers or backing tapes at all!”
They will also be releasing a new album on September 28th called Genius of Live, a live compilation of previously recorded shows from their Live at the Club House album along with a brand new remix of “Genius of Love”. I would highly suggest trying to catch one of these shows, as it’s likely the last tour for this legendary new wave band. Check out all the dates and an MP3 after the break.
