Ever since Radiohead released The King Of Limbs fans have been speculating about a possible second part yet to come. This is due to the album only having eight tracks despite several of the songs that we’ve heard about not having made the cut. There is also plenty more fuel to this rumour, all of which you can read at TheKingOfLimbsPart2.com.
However, sadly, in an interview with BBC 6 Music today, Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has denied that there will be a King of Limbs Part 2. “There are [other] songs that we have started, that we never finished, but there’s not like seven or eight finished songs waiting in the wings to be released now, or in the autumn, or something,” he said. Talking about the possibility of the songs that didn’t make the cut ever being released O’Brien says “when we start a new record, we tend to start afresh. It’s kind of an evolutionary thing – only the fittest survive.”
Radiohead are still releasing two brand new songs this weekend for Record Store Day called “The Butcher” and “Supercollider.” The former was recorded at the same time as The King Of Limbs and the latter was started in the same period but completed after the album’s release.
