Seeing as Thee Oh Sees release an album pretty much every year, you’re probably not surprised to hear that they already have a new one ready for release this June. The album is called Castlemania and will be released by Californian punk label In The Red.
That’s the album art above, which features the toy phone that made an awesome appearance in Toy Story 3, which is probably what reminded the band of the beloved toy. Or maybe it’s just a coincidence. Maybe it’s a coincidence that Castlemania sounds like Wrestlemania. Actually, it could all be a coincidence; singer John Dwyer says “I guess there is a theme going on in this record. It’s shit I didn’t realize while making it– songs about bad things, packaged in a summery record about getting numb to life and its little pleasures as you take it for granted with age.”
Castlemania is coming out on June 14th.
