There are quite a lot of things that people can, and have, devoted albums to, but mothers are a surprisingly relatively overlooked one. This Mother’s Day (May 8th – put it in your diary now before you inevitably forget), purveyors of Malawian party anthems The Very Best will do their best to right that wrong. Though in this instance the main mother that they are dedicating this album to is Mother Africa. To be honest though, it doesn’t really matter to the majority of us since it’s pretty much all in Malawian which we can’t understand. However, listening to “Super Mom” from this release over at Pitchfork I’m sure I picked up a few “mama”s in there.
The Very Best will give away Super Mom for free on May 8th, so if you didn’t mark your diary when I warned you to earlier, definitely ensure that you have it noted now.
