London-based seven piece The Orchestra (For Now) have quickly built up a reputation for grandiose live performances and it is a pleasure to report that they have transferred that to the studio on their epic debut single “Wake Robin”.
The song is an eight-minute mini-opera that will remind of the alternative giants of the 2000s as well as more recent luminaries like Black Country, New Road. However, there is plenty of The Orchestra (For Now)’s own personality and ingenuity in “Wake Robin” and its delicately dark storytelling, which is bolstered by unpredictable sonic dynamics that shift from strung-out desperation to sky-cracking grandiosity with breathtaking dexterity.
There is no real way to capture the scale of “Wake Robin” in words, so I implore you to just listen to it below or on your preferred streamer.
