British experimental artist The Haxan Cloak has revealed the full details of the follow up to his arresting 2011 debut. The new album is called Excavation and will be released through Tri Angle Records on April 30th in North America and two weeks earlier on April 15th in the rest of the world.
The Haxan Cloak’s mastermind, Bobby Krlic, is said to have incorporated more electronic influences in his new album. The Tri Angle press release tells us that this has resulted in “an album awash with serrated beats and cavernous sub-bass, meshing with the classical drones and ghostly details The Haxan Cloak fans will have already been accustomed to.” He is said to have taken “a more minimalist approach” on Excavation, which involves “experimenting with space and silence without forsaking any of the intensity that made his debut such a powerful statement of intent.”
