Please allow me to preface this post with a WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
DC-based post-punk act the Dismemberment Plan has reunited after nearly 7 years of inactivity. Besides playing two 2007 benefit reunion shows, the band has been out of commission since 2003. But now the band is reuniting for an East Coast tour in January (check out the dates below).
The band will also be re-releasing their magnum opus Emergency & I via Barsuk Records on January 11th. The 1999 will be reissued as a double LP whose gatefold sleeve will include an oral history of the album by Josh Modell of The Onion. The release will include four bonus tracks: “The Dismemberment Plan Gets Rich,” “Just Like You,” “Since You Died,” and “The First Anniversary of Your Last Phone Call.”
Is a new record in the works? “We’re not planning a new record,” bassist Eric Axelson has told Click Track. “But we’re doing these shows and taking it day to day after that.”
