The Bug Club unveil delightfully deadpan jangle pop single “Going Down”

With their wry humor, crisp but loose-limbed guitar melodies and penchant for mischief-making, jangle pop sensation The Bug Club are the odd timeless wonder. “Going Down” is the latest song out, perhaps unintentionally answering the hypothesis of what Violent Femmes might have sounded like if they came from Wales.

What starts as a rather saccharine harmony between songwriters Sam Wilmett and Tilly Harris becomes more biting and acerbic as the song progresses. The song offers the latest glimpse of upcoming debut Green Dream in F#, out via Sheffield imprint Bingo Records (preorder the album here).
