Though there are reports of the economy improving, it is still a good time to hide away in school. Also, education is important and college teaches you important life lessons blah blah blah. But, as those of us who are still paying back student loans long after our education has been completed can attest, university degrees are expensive. Enter Sub Pop.
The record label that brought us Nirvana and The Postal Service (and is currently bringing us No Age, Wolf Parade, Fleet Foxes, and loads more) are helping out three special prospective college students in Oregon or Washington. The prize: one of three scholarships (6K, 4K, and 3K respectively). The requirements: Be an artist of some sort and follow the rules laid out here. The catch: nothing. It’s a scholarship. It’s free money, fools. Get on it if you fit the bill and reap the benefits of a record labels generosity.
