Philly hardcore heroes Soul Glo have announced their new album Diaspora Problems for release on March 25 through Epitaph. They’ve also shared a new track from the album called “Jump!! (Or Get Jumped!!!)((by the future))”, saying:
“Many artists feel as though time is a consistent adversary when it comes to the production of their work, but there is a population of people within this group who fear even more the probability of their time permanently coming to a close before they can enjoy the fruit of their labor. Many Black artists who reach superstar status do so posthumously or have a limited amount of time to establish their legacy.”
“Jump!!” has the pulse of a circle pit in full flow, the undulating slashes of guitar and hellfire of the drums ensuring a despicable churn throughout. Also churning is vocalist Piece Jordan’s mouth and mind, delivering an uninterruptable diatribe from the perspective of a vital but undervalued and impoverished artist (“Living on Juice Wrld Pop Smoke time, I’ll be in my future, come try to remove it / I live only for this, it’s how I must do it”). It’s a thrilling, hair raising ride, and it’s just the beginning.
