Back in February we talked to Sharon Van Etten about her ongoing work on her third album, and it seemed as though she hoped that she’d get it out this year, despite constant touring with the likes of The National. We even included her in our second half of 2011 albums feature, but unfortunately it doesn’t look like Van Etten will be releasing her new album until early 2012.
The good news is that she has signed with a fantastic label; Indiana’s own Jagjaguwar – home to the likes of Bon Iver, Okkervil River, Dinosaur Jr and The Besnard Lakes. Not only is Jagjaguwar a fantastic home for an artist, but you can guarantee that Van Etten’s next release will come in some of the finest packaging around, just look at the new Bon Iver album or the deluxe edition of Okkervil River’s latest.
That’s all we have news on regarding Sharon Van Etten for now, but get excited for her bigger, better, Aaron- Dessner-produced third album in early 2012.
