This one almost slipped under our radar, but in a recent photo gallery at Spin, Screaming Females could be seen working hard in the studio with producer Steve Albini. The record, expected in spring of 2012, will be Albini’s second brush with up-and-coming rock bands in 2012, as he also produced the upcoming Cloud Nothings album, Attack On Memory.
For Screaming Females, this will be the follow-up to 2010’s Castle Talk, and should be their highest profile release to date. For Albini, this is another notch in the belt that has included recording with Big Black and Shellac, as well as turning the knobs for Nirvana, Pixies, and Joanna Newsom. We’ll keep you posted when more concrete details become available.
