Ryan Adams recently contributed “Shine Through The Dark” to the charity compilation Live From Nowhere Near You, Vol. 2, and he dubbed it his first song “post-retirement.” (Our review here.)
It seems Adams is almost done with his first album “post-retirement,” the first new Ryan Adams album since 2008’s Cardinology. (He has of course released an album under the moniker Orion, as well as old Carinals material on III/IV in the meantime.) He revealed in this month’s issue of Q Magazine that the new album will be called Ashes & Fire, and it is set to feature “12 elegant country-rock songs, featuring Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers’ organist Benmont Tench and guest co-vocalist Norah Jones.” Adamas has been working with producer Glyn Johns on the project. You can read the full Q article here.
